Guardsmen raise funds for Easter Seal drive in Arkansas
Twenty one Arkansas National Guard units collected Saturday for the 1974 Easter Seal Campaign. Adjutant General Major General Joe Chappell Jr said volunteers staffed intersections street corners and shopping centers with over half the funds staying in their counties for crippled children and adults ahead of the March 30 31 telethon. Obituaries for Anna D. Brown John W. Welch and Ed Edney
Anna D. Brown aged 94 died in a local hospital on Sunday with daughters Eather Thompson Dolores Walker and Lillian Hake nine grandchildren and great grandchildren surviving. Burial was in Belton Cemetery after services at Herndon Chapel. John W. Welch aged 83 of 715 West Ave A died in a local hospital Saturday. He was a Church of Christ member and World War I veteran survived by his wife Kathleen. Services were at Herndon Chapel with burial in Memory Gardens. Ed Edney of Little Rock served as State Health Department Coordinator with Dr Lowell Harris as local medical coordinator. Graduation exercises were held at Perry’s Restaurant on Thursday March 7 with Ricky Adkison and Richard Milner among Hope area graduates.
