Amendments Add Exemption and Fee Change to Boat Bill

Rep. Larry Patterson announced House approval of two Senate amendments to House Bill 169 the Boat and Motor Title Act of 1977. The first exempts federal Coast Guard vessels from the act and passed 75 to 0. the second doubles the fee from one to two dollars and passed 62 to 0. Governor Pryor will have five days to sign or veto once the bill reaches him.

Two Die as School Bus Hit by Tractor Trailer in Virginia

A school bus headed to Yellow Branch Elementary in Campbell County was rear ended by a tractor trailer four miles west of Rustburg on U S 29. At least two children died and 29 youngsters plus both drivers were hospitalized with injuries.
