A Magnolia jury of 12 people deliberated nearly three hours before convicting Harold Sherman Upton, 32, of Benton, La., of first degree murder. Judge Jack Graves sentenced Upton to life imprisonment. This was his second trial after the Arkansas Supreme Court overturned his first conviction and ordered a new trial.
