City Board Candidates Picked At Public Meeting
In a public meeting at Duninr High School last night a group endorsed seven candidates for the Board of City Rectors to be voted on August 14. The nominees were L. W. Young, Herbert Burns, George Robison, Frank Douglas, George Frazier, Roy Thrash and Sam Andrews. The group urged a draft like non political process and noted Arkansas watches the city as it adopts a new form of government. Several attendees objected to the slate, citing lack of grocer representation and petitions by other citizens. A large list of supporters signed on to endorse the seven men, with one dissenting voice from salesman Douglas Jester.
