Weekend burglaries hit local businesses
Local police report weekend burglaries across Hope. A 28 year old Blevins man was held after an attempted break in at Jacks News Stand on Main and Division Street around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, using a rock wrapped in cloth. Police investigated and captured him behind a nearby furniture store. A separate burglary at Standard Automotive Plant on West Avenue B saw money missing from a small safe and desks. Two other attempted break ins occurred at Napa Auto Parts on S Walnut and Crow-Burlingame on S Walnut with no entry. Investigations by Chief Harvey Fullerton and Officer Gene Wright continue.
