Shock prevention and first aid guidance for injuries
The article outlines shock as a common post injury complication, causes from bleeding to allergies, and warns to wear medical alerts. It provides step by step first aid: control bleeding, lay the patient flat with head lower if possible, keep airways open, keep warm, offer warm nonalcoholic fluids if conscious, call medical help, keep calm, and apply direct pressure with clean dressing. It cautions against improper use of tourniquets and notes shock can be deadlier than the original injury.
