Pilot Blames Lightning After Ozark 825 Crash
In St. Louis suburbs the pilot of Ozark Flight 825 says he flew through a tornado and believes lightning struck the craft. Authorities report at least 36 deaths as the Nashville to St. Louis flight with 41 passengers and three crew crashed into a wooded ravine during a violent thunderstorm. The FAA noted pilot Arvid Linke of the Fairchild 227 turboprop radioed shortly before the impact.

Drug course planned for lawmen in Hope area

39th Brigade to train at Chaffee Fort Chaffee to host 39th Infantry Brigade training
Arkansas National Guard units from 43 communities join about 5,000 troops at Fort Chaffee from July 28 to August 11.
