Settlement to Cost Bell $20 Million
In Arkansas the Southwestern Bell general manager says the three year contract with the Communications Workers of America will cost the company more than 20 million dollars in the state. Warren Bray notes continued revenue reviews but no current rate hikes. The 3,000 Arkansas Bell workers will return to work after a strike and the contract goes into effect August 14 if ratified. Wage increases in the first year range from four fifty to twenty five dollars weekly.
