Record Fish Reach New Arkansas State Records
Record fish do not stay long on Arkansas state books with three new entries in a month. A 31-lb 8-oz brown trout from White River near Bull Shoals Dam weighed 31 pounds 8 ounces and measured 35 1/2 inches long with a 26 inch girth taken by Troy Lackey of Lakeview on live crawfish. Bennie Fife of El Dorado set a 12-lb 2.07-oz northern pike from DeGray Reservoir on Little George, 31 1/2 inches long, on 6 lb test line. Lonnie Barclay of Little Rock listed a 17-pound paddlefish from the Arkansas River near Burns Park using a plastic worm.
