Texarkana Principal Dies at 40
Doyle L. Young principal of Texarkana Arkansas Senior High School since January 1971 died of an apparent heart attack Monday afternoon after collapsing in the hallway. He joined the Arkansas schools system in 1959 as a coach and later taught social studies and history, serving as assistant principal before becoming head principal. Survivors include his wife Mary two sons Lindy and Randy his parents Mr and Mrs Carl Young of Dierks Ark two brothers Junior Young of DeQueen and Lon Young of Nashville a sister Mrs Bob Runge of Jacksonville and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements pending.

Funeral services for John LeRoy Liverett Sr., 65, were held at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. CW Quaid officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. A Holier resident, he died Sunday in a Shreveport hospital and was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. He had ties to Lafayette County with several siblings and six grandchildren named.
