Bridge Honoree Named at Wednesday Party
Mrs Hamilton Hanegan was named honoree by Mrs Lawrence Martin and Mrs Joe Black at a bridge party held Wednesday afternoon at the former's home. White daisies decorated the rooms where four tables formed the game. High score gifts went to Mrs Billy Duckett and Mrs George Peck. Mrs Frank Mason won the bingo prize and the honoree received a rememberance. Guests included Mrs Hanegan.

Governor Promises More Bookie Raids in Hot Springs
Governor Adkins vowed further raids to halt open gambling in Arkansas. State police conducted a second sweep on Hot Springs Central avenue, arresting 24 people at five spots and charging 33 others after a June 17 raid. He warned bookies to jail, and said beer sales at some establishments would also be addressed under the 1943 Carter law.
