Six minor cases were heard at Hope City Court before Judge A A Gentry. Dillard and Jones pleaded guilty to drunkenness and were fined 10 dollars plus costs. Jamison pleaded guilty to simple assault and was fined 5 dollars and costs. Jones for disturbing the peace was dismissed. Robinson was found not guilty on a case of failing to vacate after a downtown shooting. Gates case was dismissed on State motion. A separate notice promotes a magazine feature about solving a crime at the opera.
Boston woman Marjorie Nye Rochefort 37 alleges her husband Luc Rochefort filed suit against banker James A. Stillman for alienation of affection seeking divorce instead. She denies romantic ties to Stillman and says he helped back a failed Havana beauty shop venture with Astrid Haug.
The Star apologizes for an error in a Saturday paid notice listing B. M Canon as a treasurer candidate. The correct race is city recorder in the upcoming election Tuesday. The paper regrets the mistake to Mr Canon.

Jefferson City Missouri reports the 20th amendment to the U S constitution has been ratified by the state senate and house completing the required 36 states. Congress will meet January 3 and inaugurations move to January 20. the lame duck session ends with the October 15 effective date after a decade long effort led by Senator George Norris.
Luke Lea of Nashville and his son Luke Lea Jr were ordered to surrender in Buncombe superior court at 11 15 but did not appear. Capiases issued for their arrest. The elder Lea faces six to ten years and the son two to four with possible 25000 fine and costs for conspiring to defraud the Central Bank & Trust Co of nearly a million dollars.
