Phone Rate to Increase in Bodcaw Exchange
Southwestern Bell announced a February rate increase for Bodcaw customers as exchanges joining larger rate groupings raise local charges. PSC rules in 1962 tied group size to basic local rates, with residence caps and business caps up to $1 per month before tax. The company notes bills will reflect the changes on February 26 and explains larger exchanges pay higher rates, claiming fairness by reducing long distance calls. The Boolcan exchange moves from Rate Group I to I after growth to 315 phones, aligning with the current grouping.
