Hope City Board to swear in new members Tuesday
The Hope Board of Directors will meet Tuesday night at City Hall to administer the oath of office to newly elected members and consider electing a mayor and vice mayor. Two Shipwrecked Men Survive After Coast Guard Rescue
In a winter gale off Cape Ann Massachusetts two crewmen clung to the wrecked tanker as 35-foot waves and 70 mph winds battered them. John Gilmete and Harry Selleck survived after being plucked by Coast Guard cutters and helicopters while a third crewman, Joao Da Rosa, is missing and presumed drowned. The 281-foot Chester A. Poling broke in half and sank.

Car Collision on Highway 29 North of Hope
A two vehicle crash occurred on Highway 29 about 12 miles north of Hope Friday at 4 p m. Margret Moses of Washington attempted a left turn onto County Road 7 in front of Nancy Brown of Hope. Moses was hospitalized and charges against her are pending per Arkansas State Police.
