Woman dies after reentering burning Arkansas home
In Dardanelle Arkansas a 59 year old woman Milton Bates reentered a burning house to retrieve a dress and died. Her husband who had earlier led her out also reentered to save her but fled as smoke intensified. Their 15 year old daughter Mary Ann woke to find the room on fire and aided by Bates who pushed her out a window before waking his wife. The fire believed caused by an overheating wood stove occurred off Mt Neho Road west of Dardanelle.
