Televised coroner inquest slated for Pierce student death
A public inquest will be held Jan. 17 in Los Angeles into the death of Pierce College student Fred Bronner 21 found at the bottom of a 500 foot wilderness cliff after fraternity brothers reportedly left him to “teach him a lesson” in Angeles National Forest. Jurors will decide natural cause accident death by own action or by another. If ruled by another, criminal probes may target Chi Chi fraternity brothers John Berges Gordon Gillespy and John Morgan. Pierce College president Dr John Nicklin said Tri Chi Fraternity suspended and campus fraternity sorority reviews ordered. The three left Bronner in gym shorts and a coat about 2 am Dec 22 intending to help him hitch a ride back.
