Allen Bill Sets Low State Minimum Wage, No Overtime
In Little Rock Arkansas Pu laski County Rep Ben Allen proposes a state minimum wage bill of 80 cents an hour. Unlike federal law it omits any overtime pay provision. Federal rules set 1.25 dollars an hour with 1.15 for certain jobs and require time and a half for overtime after eight hours per day or forty per week.

Small GI Freed After 35 Hours Buried in Qui Nhon Rubble
Spec. 4 Arthur Abendschein of Deptford New Jersey was pulled free after 35 hours trapped in a six by two by two foot opening in a bombed billet in Qui Nhon South Viet Nam. He said he shot at Viet Cong attackers from a balcony and described the rescue by Vietnamese forces aided by two 18 year olds. He asked his mother and girlfriend to know he is safe as doctors treated a back twist and a four inch head cut.
