No Decision on Law School at Little Rock

Senate Judiciary B heard two hours of testimony and refused to recommend a bill funding a fulltime law school in Little Rock. The proposal would add a $1 court filing fee to fund legal education at the University of Arkansas and allow bonds for Fayetteville upgrades and Little Rock construction. Printed merit plan fails in House vote in Arkansas

Opponents blocked Gov. Bumpers plan for a comprehensive state merit system by a 52-36 tally after a ballot poll was challenged, leaving 48-36. Rep.
