Six Firemen Die in Blaze at Millard Hotel Omaha
In Omaha Nebraska a major hotel fire at the Millard hotel left six firemen dead and at least seventeen injured as crews battled the blaze in 15 below zero. Capt. Ed Smith died in the rear wall collapse and several others were buried under debris including Capt. George Cogan, brother of Chief Patrick Cogan, with bodies being recovered as search continued.
