Police nurses offer unique path from station to bedside
Bellevue Hospital graduates 87 cops and firefighters after 20 years in a Bellevue program. Initiated by New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Cimino, the two class cohort trained as nurses to fill urgent city needs with hands on experience from stationhouse and firehouse life. Funding by HEW provided $500000 for the program.
