The National Weather Service forecasts showers and thundershowers possible on Wednesday as moisture moves rapidly northwest from the western gulf today.

He noted growth from eight students in 1972 to 7327 in 1944 enrollments, highlighted expanded curricula with 31 Ph.D. programs, and urged financial support for the university and its campuses. Vincent Foster arranged the program with Club President Bob Gullett welcoming Gene Wilbourn Ed Alderman Jimmy Pilkinton and visiting Rotarians Tom Callan and Deward Sharp.
Former Arkansas state senator Q Byrum Hurst faces consolidation of Missouri misapplication charges in Kansas City, with Arkansas counts to be resolved there. Hurst, long a Hot Springs official, was implicated in about $298,000 misused across Pike County Bank Murfreesboro, Bank of Glenwood Glenwood, and First State Bank Joplin.
Rosa Rogers 85 died in Hot Springs Arkansas after living there 38 years. Survivors include sons Edward and William Rogers daughters Marlene Riggs Louise Reynolds and Narvell Crews. Funeral Tuesday at Caruther chapel with burial in Memorial Gardens. Imon Gee 91 of Prescott died Sunday. Survivor wife Elsie Phillips Gee son Dudley Gee daughter G Tom Ayers five grandchildren 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Monday at First United Methodist Church burial DeAnn Cemetery. Mrs D M Stuart former Hempstead County resident died February 2 in North Bend Oregon. Survived by husband two sons one sister two brothers two cousins. Funeral February 6 in North Bend.
State Police report Ben Currie 71 of El Dorado was killed when struck by a car as he walked from a parked vehicle across an Arkansas highway near Dumas. Betty Janice Lay 23 of Dumas drove the eastbound lane vehicle that hit him. An unrelated line about births in New York appears in the text.
Senator McClellan announced Nixon's 1975 budget includes 100000 for advanced planning and architectural studies for a new Veterans Administration hospital at Little Rock. He noted VA officials also selected Little Rock for a geriatric research center receiving 315000 for aging research.
