Man Killed in Prescott Accident

State Police report 20 year old Paul H. Davidson of Prescott died in a one vehicle crash three miles south of Prescott on U.S. 67 when he lost control on a curve and struck a bridge end. This marked Arkansas 575th traffic death for 1969, compared with 698 on the same date in 1968. The second item notes the Arkansas Supreme Court being urged to overturn a ruling against Conway County Sheriff Marlin Hawkins, potentially exposing officials to similar suits. Hawkins was ordered to pay 7,893 dollars into Conway County treasury for misaccounted fines and fees from 1954 through 1966 after a taxpayer suit.

Cease fire starts in Vietnam during three day truce

A 24 hour Christmas cease-fire began in South Vietnam as Viet Cong announced a three day halt. Allied forces suspended up to 80 battalion size offensives while maintaining patrols and reconnaissance. One Viet Cong violation produced casualties including four Americans and multiple Vietnamese.

Unclear ABC Action Considered on Hot Springs Clothier
