High Court Rules on Oil Unitization

The Arkansas Supreme Court issued two opinions on oil and gas unitization. It ruled the oil and gas commission cannot order unitization of entire fields for conservation or other purposes, and that commission rules must be followed when a field is voluntarily unitized. The case involved B. H. Dobson and others versus the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission, with background from the Me Kamie-Patton field and efforts since 1940 to prevent waste by reinjecting dry gas as pressure declined.
