Drug Sellers Usually Users and Young
Stanford AP report on an international drug abuse conference reveals a profile of drug sellers: young, white, self-justifying, not criminals, and often users. Based on 454 interviews in jails, schools, colleges, Haight Ashbury, and California communes, most began with alcohol and tobacco in teen years, later turning to narcotics by early adulthood, with mixed feelings about arrest and growing concerns about addiction after four years of dealing.
