Cummins Prison uprising at Cummins Farm probed by state police
State Police Director Ralph Scott said inmates talked of a staged Nov 2 uprising at Cummins Prison Farm. A police report found no substantiation and described negotiated releases, with Correction Commissioner Robert Sarver and Supt. Bill Steed making themselves hostages to secure freedom for two of four hostages. The report lists inmate demands granted, including job assignments, restoration of good time, and transfers within the isolation unit.
