Why is a raincoat called a macintosh in Britain
The term macintosh comes from Charles Macintosh, a Scottish chemist who in 1823 developed a method to waterproof cloth with rubber, giving his name to the raincoat. Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space, orbiting Earth 48 times in 1963.
