Wedding Vows in Marshall Inked by Rev Lane
Miss Kathy Cecile Portman daughter of Rev Fred Portman and Ed die Ray Muncey son of Mr and Mrs Edmond Muncey were married November 29 at the First Pentecostal Church of Marshall with Rev B W Lane officiating. Nuptial music featured rose and candlelit decor as the couple exchanged vows before family and friends and a reception followed at the Lions Community House. The bride wore a peau de soie gown with portrait neckline and chapel train, carried white carnations and orchid, with Shirley Kaylor as maid of honor and Sandra Rogers as matron of honor. Guests included family from Pine Bluff Port Arthur and Hope, with a harvest motif in decor and a copper fruit centerpiece. The couple’s reception and attire reflected a formal early 1960s tone.

Playhouse drama questions fair exchange of aid and return
AP reports CBS Playhouse presents Saturday Adoption by Ron Cowen about Rich Meridan, a 20 year old prelaw tutor who helps Macy Stander, a 12 year old in a slum. The drama traces disillusionment, class differences, and the ache for meaning as Rich’s dream clashes with Macy’s harsh reality.
