A derailed freight train at Texarkana caused a fiery chain of explosions injuring three firemen and three Red Cross workers. About 6000 residents within a 14 mile radius were evacuated as four derailed cars burned including one with a highly explosive chemical and others with nitric acid, liquid plastic and gas, fertilizer, and naphtha.
