Mrs. Clement F. Haynsworth Jr., wife of Nixon nominee, explains she judges only in horticulture. The piece notes her civic and church involvement and their Charleston meeting during World War II. A separate brief debunks the bear hug myth, stating bears attack with paw swipes, not hugs.
