Campaign petitions flagged for criminal violations in Arkansas
The Election Laws Institute chair Thomas A. Glaze said evidence showed petitions filed by the American Party in Arkansas contained fictitious circulators and names of dead persons. He cited multiple signatures attributed to Walter L. Carruth and his son, suggesting possible overwork by Secretary of State Kelly Bryant and possible discrediting of the investigation. Carruth acknowledged signing several petitions, citing lost copies and the need to review originals.
