Reduced grain crops expected
The Agriculture Department projects record corn and wheat crops this season though below prior expectations. Deputy Asst. Secretary Richard Bell said prices may not fall, with 1973 retail levels forecast 18 to 22 percent higher than 1972. The report also shows corn at 5.661 billion bushels, soybeans 1.54 billion, and wheat 1.717 billion, up or down from prior estimates.
