Hope man Lee Ewing ends life by carbolic acid
L. B. Ewing aged about 32 a Hope resident died after drinking carbolic acid at his North Elm Street home. He was rushed to Julia Chester hospital where he died ten minutes later. He had been deeply distressed since his wife’s death leaving three young children. He once worked as a bookkeeper for Hope Heading Company and was widely known in the county.
