Nevada County crash kills two and injures one

Two residents of Minden Louisiana were killed and one child injured in a head on collision on Arkansas 19 in Nevada County. The deceased were Ethel F. Jones 64 and Dolphus E. Jones 91. Leroy Godwin 4 of Emmett was injured. Investigation cited crossing the center line by both vehicles.

Hearing on liquor permit suit canceled in Arkansas

Chancellor Bernice L. Kizer canceled a preliminary hearing in a suit to revoke private club liquor permits in wet counties. Index shows March surge in leading economic indicators

The Commerce Department reports the leading economic indicators index rose 1.4 percent in March, the largest jump in 20 months, with gains in new orders, average work week, and building permits. Six of ten components increased while four declined, and inflation projections were revised upward to 6.7 percent.
