In Washington the Senate Foreign Relations Committee closed doors with Secretary Rogers and declared strong opposition to any U S arms aid to Cambodia despite a large Cambodian request for rifles trucks halftracks and airplanes. Chairman Fulbright and Senator Aiken emphasized the panel’s stance while noting no decision to expand current aid beyond South Vietnamese shipments of captured Soviet AK47 rifles and limited cross border actions.
Jacksonville attorney Kenneth C. Coffelt filed notice to appeal a state Supreme Court decision upholding Arkansas Power & Light Co. late payment charges. He sought a stay of the mandate while continuing the challenge, after a Public Service Commission approval last May. The suit began in Pulaski Chancery Court and moved through Arkansas courts before the latest ruling.
Rufus Jones aged 22 from Arkadelphia pleaded not guilty in Clark County Circuit Court on Monday over the fatal shooting of 21 year old George W. Watson of Dean Hempstead County. The case centers on the alleged killing in Arkadelphia.

Cambodias army said its troops drove Viet Cong from the Buddhist pagoda at Angtasom 36 miles south of Phnom Penh and that cleanup operations were underway. The clash, now in its sixth day, saw Viet Cong forces blow a bridge on the Phnom Penh Ang Tassom road while Khmer troops brace for possible Highway 4 attacks. More evacuations were reported from embassies fearing an assault on the capital.
Showers and thundershowers remain in the forecast for Arkansas as a high pressure ridge in the Gulf sends warm moist air.
