Wallace and Williams discuss farming at Rothamsted
Edward L. Campbell reports Henry A. Wallace, amid shifting from Truman doctrine talk, touring Rothamsted with Britain's agriculture minister Tom Williams. For four hours they toured plots, exchanged views on plants and fertilizers, and praised British farm research while Williams argued against nationalizing Rothamsted. Wallace contrasted American restrictions with apparent British freedom in farming policy.

Wilkersons Testify On Shooting After Bryant Wounding Brother
Albert Wilkerson testified he shot the white men after Bryant wounded his brother without cause. Willie Wilkerson and two other Negro witnesses said Bryant was the aggressor. Prosecution argued one Wilkerson fired first. A Pine Bluff undertaker, U S Wilson, sat on a Jefferson county jury panel in years past, and a prior panel of only whites was quashed in favor of a mixed panel ordered by Circuit Judge T G Parham last month.
