Driver Killed in Fiery Construction Site Crash at Georgetown Twp
A pickup driver died late Friday when it crashed into a large construction grate on Cottonwood Drive near Allen Springs Lane, starting a vehicle fire. No witnesses at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 21. The victim’s identity is withheld awaiting family notification. The truck, lacking a license plate, left an uneven dirt surface and heavy front-end damage. The crash is under investigation by Ottawa County sheriff officials.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on U S 31 in Olive Township near Holland shortly before midnight Friday. Michael Posthumus, 37, of Spring Lake, tried to avoid a darting pedestrian but could not. Northbound lanes were closed for hours. the other man’s name was withheld pending family notification.

Saugatuck man dies after Port Sheldon crash
A Saugatuck man, Troy Lange, 49, died from injuries after a Friday September 14 single vehicle crash on Lakeshore Drive in Port Sheldon Township. He lost control while pulling a utility trailer, hit a tree, was extricated by firefighters, and transported to Holland Hospital in serious but stable condition before death was confirmed by the medical examiner.
