Hope College unveils Ray and Sue Smith Stadium in 2013
The former Holland Municipal Stadium home to Hope College football since 1979 was dedicated as Ray and Sue Smith Stadium before the Flying Dutchmen hosted Millikin. Smith, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s winningest coach at 148-69-9 with nine MIAA titles, also earned 1984 NCAA Division II Co Coa as a top coach. Hope College bought the stadium from the city in 2012.

Agate Show Captivates Tulip City Gem Club Visitors
The Tulip City Gem and Mineral Club hosts its annual Agates are Superior show at Soccer Stop Sportsplex Holland. Sue Goedert reports strong student turnout from Ottawa Area Center Hamilton home schools and Hudsonville Christian Schools. The event features 10 dealers, displays, silent auction, games, sluice, and a fluorescent tent with admission 3 dollars for adults and free for children.
