New district lines approved for Ottawa County commissions

The Ottawa County apportionment committee unanimously adopted new county commission boundaries to be used through the 2031 apportionment cycle after the next census. The 11-district map places Holland area segments across Districts 1 through 6, aligning Park Township with Port Sheldon and Olive townships in District 1, and detailing precinct splits for Districts 2 to 6. District 3 covers Holland city proper, while Zeeland area joins District 4 and 5 aligns with Hudsonville Blenden and Jamestown. District 6 includes Georgetown Township precincts 8 and 9-17. Expansion a win for local ag economy
