Holland adopts aggressive plan to cut emissions by half

Holland City Council approved a set of aggressive strategies to cut the city's carbon footprint after a yearlong review of the 2011 Community Energy Plan. The plan covers the BPW electric portfolio, building energy use, transportation, education and offsets, with a goal of reducing per capita emissions from 24 to 12.25 metric tons by 2030 and toward 10 by 2050, aided by public participation and programs like Home Energy Retrofit.
