Crowdfunded playgrounds rise at Douglas Beery Field
Douglas volunteers led by Anna Gregg Ashley Siebe link and Kristen Schipper opened crates of parts for a new playground at Beery Field and finished a second swing set at Schultz Park. The two parks grew from a community fund drive spanning two years, born from parent chats at kids’ games.

Michigan expands access to mental health care clinics
More than 30 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics in Michigan will be eligible to provide mental health services through Medicaid. In total 33 clinics statewide will be reimbursed for full treatment costs, backed by 26.5 million dollars in state and federal funds via the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow said funding meets federal standards and expands care, including crisis services, outpatient treatment, screenings, risk assessments, and care coordination with ERs and law enforcement. Michigan has received 135 million dollars in related funding.
