Eighth Street renovation near completion in Holland
In Holland, 17 and 21 Eighth Street undergo a major rebuild after 18 months of work. Karla s Place Eighth Street Salon and Holland Clock Co. spaces are replaced with five two story apartments above retail. The George and The Evelyn now top the rebuilt facades with new windows balconies and a third story.

First free roam VR center opens in Michigan at Zero Latency
Builders Zachary Rhoda and Benjamin Hulst prepare Zero Latency at 2522 Van Ommen Drive as Michigan’s first free roam VR facility. The Holland venture, the 7th U S location, promises an eight person, 2000 square foot room with a backpack computer system and helmet camera. No local schools report COVID outbreaks in latest update
The state School Related Outbreak Report shows 83 new outbreaks, with only two in Ottawa County and one in Allegan County. Ottawa County sites were Coopersville South Elementary and Coopersville Middle School, Hudsonville Park Elementary in Allegan, and Otsego Washington Street Elementary. Holland Public Schools reported four new cases for the week ending Oct 8, totaling 41 student and 10 staff cases for the year. West Ottawa Public Schools lists 16 active student cases, including six at the high school.
