Astronomical Observatory Fundraising Gains Momentum in West Olive
The Shoreline Amateur Astronomical Association has raised 55000 toward a 95000 target for a 14 by 14 foot observatory with a rotating dome and 16 inch telescope at Hemlock Crossing Park 8115 W Olive Rd West Olive. Solar cells power the building with potential wireless image transmission to the nature education center.

Michigan Mayor Exchange visits Holland Charlevoix hosts visit
The annual Michigan Mayor's Exchange will bring Charlevoix Mayor Luther Kurtz Councilmember Janet Kalbfell and City Manager Mark Heydlauff to Holland on May 30 and 31 for tours of Holland Museum Hope College downtown police and court facilities and a waterfront and energy park itinerary. The Holland delegation will visit Charlevoix on August 9.
