Peters urges federal help to curb vaccine misinformation

First Tulip Time weekend a hit despite virus fears
Holland welcomed many visitors for Tulip Time as hotel rooms sold out and Windmill Island drew over 12,000 in two days. With a 1000 person cap, the park opened early to sell tickets on a one in one out basis and many waited up to 45 minutes for entry.

Three area schools added to state outbreak list
Three area schools were added to the state's School Related Outbreak Report on Monday May 3. Holland's Jefferson Elementary Holland Christians South Side Elementary and Fennville High School each listed two linked student cases the minimum for an outbreak. Holland Public Schools said Jefferson would be added in a district update Friday. Active district wide cases total 17 including eight at Holland High and four at Holland Language Academy with 198 student and 49 staff cases year to date. West Ottawa district active student cases sit at 24 including seven at Harbor Lights Middle School for a total of 483 student cases this year. Holland Christian shows 15 active cases including 14 students with seven at Holland Christian Middle School and weekly update notes 118 student and 25 staff cases year to date. Saugatuck Public Schools reported two middle school cases one at high school and one at Douglas Elementary bringing seven active district cases and 32 total for the year. Hope College reported six new cases.
