Michigan February retail dip persists with mixed sales
Michigan retailers report February sales down overall with 53 percent of respondents seeing declines and 37 percent noting gains. The dip follows January weakness blamed on cold weather and post-holiday lull. Local shop Evolution Nutrition in Holland saw January February improvement, while statewide February receipts reached 484.8 million, up 1.7 percent year over year but far below January’s 684.2 million.
