Holland BPW proposes electric rate cut in July
Holland Board of Public Works backs a 5.7 percent electric rate reduction for its customers as part of the fiscal 2019 budget plan. The proposal cites Holland Energy Park efficiency and a 50 percent drop in greenhouse gas emissions, with water and wastewater rises also on the table to fund infrastructure upgrades. The City Council will review the proposals after a March 12 BPW vote, with April budget sessions to follow. The example bills show a typical household drop from 74.81 to 72.84, depending on usage.
