Semi-truck crash triggers second pileup on I-196
In Ganges Township Allegan County two crashes occurred Friday afternoon along northbound I-196 near mile marker 30. A semi trapped by slow traffic hit a pickup, causing a third vehicle collision. The pickup driver was airlifted in critical condition. A second crash involving five vehicles left two with minor injuries. Investigations continue.

Deputy pulls driver from burning car in Casco Township
A quick-thinking Allegan County deputy pulled a driver to safety after a crash at 66th Street and 109th Avenue in Casco Township. Two vehicles collided after one ran a stop sign, injuring three. The driver of the car that caught fire was stabilized, others treated, and alcohol and speed are suspected factors. Assisting agencies included South Haven Area Emergency Services, Air Care, Saugatuck, Fennville, and MSP.
