Holland Council weighs beekeeping ordinance in study session
Holland City Council will discuss allowing honeybees within city limits at a 5 30 p m study session. The Planning Commission previously rejected a beekeeping ordinance by 4 2 with three absentees. The session will not vote but will reveal council opinions. The issue arose after resident Tom Volkema kept hives and requested changes to the animals ordinance. The agenda also includes buying tax foreclosed property policy and Smallenburg Skate Park improvements. A one year motel lodging license for Wooden Shoe Motel may be tabled if required work is not completed.
