Armed man arrested after crash near Grand Rapids
Joshua Michael Gryzen of Wyoming is jailed on a 45000 bond after deputies found him passed out in grass with a loaded assault weapon pointed toward a highway following a crash on I-96 near Polkton Township. Drugs ammunition and a bulletproof vest were found in his vehicle. Gryzen faces drunken driving resisting police possession of firearms while under the influence of drugs or alcohol possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He demanded a preliminary examination and probable cause conference set for later this week.

The Ottawa County Fair runs July 23 through July 28 with gates opening 4 p.m. Monday and daily grandstand events each night. Admission is 4 adults, 1 for children, free for under three. rides cost 1 or 18 for armband. Whispering Pines Mobile Zoo operates 2-9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
