Senior housing plans touted for Holland project
Schneider of Schneider & Smith and Samaritas officials presented preliminary designs to the Holland planning commission on July 10 for a four story senior housing development aimed at residents aged 55 to 75 with subsidized units tied to area median income. The plan includes studios and one bedroom units, first floor parking, a lobby, on site management offices, and shared spaces on a corner with a possible patio and coffee bar. Commissioners raised concerns about outdoor spaces facing 16th and River and street noise, leading to a design shift with residential areas moved away from the street.
