Ottawa County Civil Infractions Jump in 2020

Ottawa County saw civil infraction citations rise from 328 in 2019 to 934 in 2020, a roughly 185 percent increase. Officials attribute the spike to more visitors at county parks during summer 2020, noting the sharp rise as a major change from the prior year.

Aid offered for Michigan workers hit by November shutdown

Applications opened Friday for one time Employee Assistance Grants totaling 45 million for restaurant, hospitality, entertainment, lodging and related workers laid off or hours reduced due to the November 18 shutdown. Grants up to 1650 per person. applications due January 25 with funds distributed in March.
